Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Aheri
Aheri Agricultural Produce Market Committee was established on 23 October 1979, and as per the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Purchase and Sale (Regulation) Act, 1963 and the rules made thereunder, 1967, the functioning of the Market Committee has been going on since 29 June 1984.
The jurisdiction of the Market Committee is limited to the villages of three talukas namely Aheri, Etapalli and Bhamragad. India is an agricultural country. Almost 65 percent of the people of this country are engaged in agricultural business. Agriculture is the only way of life for Indians. Today, 60 percent of the total national income is derived from agricultural income and agriculture plays an important role in the development of the country, therefore, farmers are widely considered to be the backbone of the economy.
